KISTA, Sweden, March 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Sivers Semiconductors AB (STO: SIVE), a prominent player in the fields of photonics and wireless technologies, has announced the general availability of its 7-15GHz Daybreak™ beamforming integrated circuits (ICs). These ICs are designed for emerging 5G/6G FR3 applications, as well as multi-function defence arrays.
The FR3 frequency band is poised to become a pivotal aspect of 5G-Advanced and 6G network deployments, capitalising on the advantages of superior propagation at sub-6GHz frequencies while also offering wider bandwidths at millimetre-wave frequencies.
Although global standardisation of the FR3 band is still pending, market reports from Yole Intelligence indicate an estimated serviceable available market (SAM) of $1.3 billion by 2030, based on anticipated FR3 penetration in base stations and consumer premise equipment (CPE).
Sivers’ DAYBREAK0715 beamforming ICs are set to deliver industry-leading broadband transmit power and efficiency, complemented by an advanced receiver noise figure. Additionally, these ICs support integration with external front-end modules.
Harish Krishnaswamy, Managing Director of the Wireless Division at Sivers Semiconductors, stated, “Daybreak™ is already receiving substantial interest from several customers. This product will expedite our customer solutions to the market for base stations and CPE devices as global interest in FR3 continues to escalate.”
This innovative chipset was developed under a $6 million project awarded by the US Department of Defense (DoD) Microelectronics Commons for 5G/6G, in partnership with Raytheon and Ericsson.
Sivers Semiconductors plays a vital role in fostering a greener data economy through energy-efficient photonics and wireless solutions. The company’s high-precision laser and RF beamformer technologies assist clients across key sectors such as AI datacentres, SATCOM, defence, and telecommunications in addressing critical performance challenges while promoting a more sustainable operational footprint.
