The BRIC-National Agri-Food and Biomanufacturing Institute (BRIC-NABI), an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, is seeking qualified candidates for a Consultant position in Regulatory Affairs and Commercialization. Established in 2010, BRIC-NABI is dedicated to transforming the Agri-food sector in India. Its mission encompasses knowledge generation and translational science focused on developing value-added products that stem from Agri-food biotechnology innovations, ultimately aimed at enhancing household nutritional security.
BRIC-NABI’s research initiatives include bio-fortification, the creation of designer crops for improved nutrition, and the development of evidence-based functional foods to combat malnutrition. The institute is currently looking to fill the following contractual position:
Position Details

- Qualifications & Experience: PhD in any branch of Life Sciences, Agricultural Biotechnology, Food and Nutrition Sciences, Food Technology or equivalent, along with 20 years of experience in regulatory affairs and commercialization in reputable institutions or organisations.
Job Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Catalysing and facilitating technical aspects of developing partnerships with other research institutes and industry.
- Organising partnership meetings.
- Developing knowledge-driven business plans based on plant and food research.
Working Schedule and Remuneration
- Working Schedule: 24 hours per week
- Emoluments: Rs 1,50,000 per month (fixed)
This position is contractual for a period of eleven months from the date of joining, with the possibility of extension based on the need for consultancy and submission of a progress report. The institute retains the right not to extend the tenure beyond the initial eleven months.

- Retired Government officials will have remuneration fixed according to Government of India rules.
- The position is strictly temporary and on a contractual basis, with no claims to regular or permanent employment thereafter.
