New Research Position Announced at NIPER for Pharmaceutical Professionals

The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) has announced a new opportunity for professionals in the pharmaceutical sciences. Recognised as the first national-level institute in this field, NIPER aims to establish itself as a centre of excellence for advanced studies and research. Declared an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India, it operates autonomously under the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers.

NIPER’s mission extends beyond national borders, aspiring to lead in pharmaceutical sciences not only within India but also across South East Asia, South Asia, and Africa. As a member of both the Association of Indian Universities and the Association of Commonwealth Universities, NIPER is committed to fostering educational and research collaborations.

Currently, applications are invited from eligible Indian nationals for a temporary position of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical). This role falls under the project entitled ‘Regenerating Compressed Nerves using Mesenchymal Stem Cell-Collagen Scaffold via Tunneling Nanotube-Mediated Mitochondrial Transfer’ (GP-496), which is sponsored by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and supervised by Dr. Ashutosh Kumar, Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at NIPER-SAS Nagar.

Position Details

  • Post: Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical)
  • Essential Qualification: First class M.S. (Pharm.) / M.Pharm. / M.Tech. (Pharm.) or equivalent degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology/Pharmacology/Biotechnology or a related field.
  • Desirable Qualification: Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Pharmacology and Toxicology, animal experimentation, and in vitro studies.
  • Age Limit: Candidates should not exceed 35 years of age (age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD will follow Government of India rules).
  • Fellowship: Monthly stipend of Rs. 56,000/- plus HRA, as applicable.

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to register for a Ph.D. programme, following the institute’s rules and regulations. The engagement is full-time and temporary, initially lasting for one year, with the possibility of annual extensions based on satisfactory performance, up to a maximum of three years, aligning with the project’s duration.

Interviews will take place in person or in a hybrid format at NIPER-SAS Nagar. Only shortlisted candidates will receive an interview invitation via email.
